Are these the new trends for 2022?

Shades of Green

As we move into 2022, we can confirm from our experience that shades of green are having a major moment right now. He have used vast shades of green colours from all different designer brands such as Little Greene, Farrow and Ball and Dulux.

Our favourite stand out colour right now which seems to be getting a lot of people talking is Harley Green, number 312 from the Little Greene collection. This stunning, deep green-blue is an eye catching and bold colour which seems perfect for an entrance hallway. Making it the first thing people see when they come into your home, it’s a huge conversation starter, if you want your friends and family to give you a compliment as they walk through the door then this colour if for sure the one!

Here is an example of using Little Green Harley Green in an entrance hall in Soho. The deep green wall and bright brilliant white on the ceilings and woodwork create a stunning contrast.

The decline of the home office

As a lot of the workforce transitioned to working from home at the start of the pandemic, we are starting to see a transition as home offices become more of a necessity than a luxury. Nearly two years later, many people are starting to head back into the workplace, making the need for home offices a lot less important.

According to a 2022 trend report from Modsy, 81% of people would prefer to work from home at least part of the time, but the online interior design company experienced a 30% decrease in the number of people designing home offices this year compared to 2020!

As priorities and needs shift, we predict that many homeowners will start transitioning their home offices back to something different, whether that would be a guest bedroom, walk in closet or even a home gym.

Here is an idea that we have experienced working in numerous properties that could just give you the motivation to swap out the old desks and replace them with a new running machine!

Painted Ceilings

I know what you’re thinking but yes you did read the title right! Recently we have seen a huge increase in clients getting their ceilings painted in the same colour as they want the wall colour.

You’ll see from the image below that light colours create a unique perception when entering a room with everything painted in the same colour. I feel like it really opens a room and is very eye catching.

Could this be a new trend for 2022? I feel this the more common this becomes the more people will be accepting of this unique idea.
